Cheddar Cheese Fondue
Measurements aren’t exact… experiment a few times and you’ll find the proportions that you like.
1/2 cup beer or white cooking wine
1/2 tsp garlic (or more, to taste)
Shredded cheddar cheese (I buy one of the 16 oz bags, preshredded)
3-4 shakes Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp mustard powder
Black pepper to taste
Pour beer/wine in a fondue pot. Add garlic.
Bring to a boil on the stove. Reduce to simmer.
Gradually add shredded cheddar cheese, stirring continuously. Add only as much as is needed for correct consistency.
Blend in worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, and black pepper.
Some ideas for what to dip in the cheese fondue
Bread cubes
Veggies – carrots, brocolli, small boiled potatoes
Fruits – apples and grapes
Meats – pieces of sausage or hot dogs (haven’t tried it, but sounds good)
